Summer Daiquiri Recipes from Melissa Guerra

With a simple recipe and help from Melissa Guerra, you can enjoy a nice fresh daiquiri for summer that includes a refreshing taste and is available in a variety of flavors.

Classic Daiquiri

With those hot summer temperatures, nothing refreshes your mouth quite like a daiquiri. With Melissa’s recipe for making a Classic Daiquiri, you can enjoy your summer with this elegant yet simple drink. Use a blend of cracked ice, white rum, key lime, and a teaspoon of superfine sugar and you have an easy-to-make beverage that will give your taste buds a refreshing air of coolness.

Shaken Strawberry Daiquiri

Add a twist to a simple frozen strawberry beverage by using Melissa Guerra’s own recipe for a Shaken Strawberry Daiquiri, which adds fresh strawberries and a strawberry liqueur for a better-tasting drink.
This daiquiri is easy to make as it only requires a few ingredients. All you need is white rum, fresh strawberries, some cracked ice, and an ounce of crème de fraise (strawberry liqueur). With a couple of steps to follow and a good shake at the end, you too can make your very own Shaken Strawberry Daiquiri using Melissa Guerra’s original recipe that is featured on the Latin Kitchen.

Papa Doble

This daiquiri was Ernest Hemingway's favorite! He preferred less sugar in cocktails yet didn’t want to have to miss out on a delicious drink. Therefore, this daiquiri was developed for Hemingway to include a different blend of ingredients with the same great-tasting flavor as a traditional daiquiri.

With some cracked ice, white rum, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, and just a hint of key lime and fresh grapefruit juice, Melissa’s recipe on how to make Papa Doble (Hemingway’s Frozen Special Daiquiri) is one that is simple and easy to follow.

Fresh Banana Daiquiri

Nothing makes a fresh daiquiri taste better than a hint of actual fresh fruit. With Melissa’s recipe for making a Fresh Banana Daiquiri, you can make this simple drink that is perfect for a party.
With the usual ingredients of cracked ice and white rum, this daiquiri also includes an ounce of banana liqueur and ½ of a very ripe banana. Add in a couple of teaspoons of superfine sugar for added taste and you have yourself a delicious daiquiri for anyone to enjoy.
