Gaya Mexican Vanilla Extract
Taste the beauty of a rain forest orchid.
Papantla, a rural farming center in Veracruz is famous for the voladores, indigenous Totonac dancers that hang upside down from a 30 ft pole and "fly" to the ground. The Totonac tribe is also famous for their cultivation of Vanilla Planifolia, having supplied the court of Moctezuma with the richly flavored whole vanilla pods. Since 1877, the Gaya family has been producing Gaya Mexican Vanilla Extract in the Mexican state of Veracruz, the birthplace of Mexican vanilla and the homeland of the Totonac tribe.
Grown in the shade of chocolate or citrus trees, each vanilla orchid is hand pollinated. The resulting organically grown Mexican vanilla beans are then hand harvested and kiln cured. The flavor of Gaya Mexican Vanilla Extract is rich, floral, and mysterious. Gaya Mexican Vanilla Extract can be used in baking, beverages, or even as a natural vanilla scent.
Gaya Vanilla can be used in baking, beverages, or even as a natural vanilla scent. Offered in a 4 oz size, but if you are an avid baker, try the larger, more economical 17 oz. bottle.
