Visitor Identification:
For each visitor to our website, our web server automatically recognizes the consumer's domain name. We use cookies to store visitors preferences, record session information (such as items that consumers add to their shopping basket), record cart activity at the site in order to provide better service when visitors return to the site, and to customize (when appropriate) web page content based on visitor's browser type or other information that the visitor sends.
This information is used for internal review and is then discarded. It is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes. Additional information given directly by the visitor (e-mail address, name, mailing address) is discussed below.
Security:
We always use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site. You can feel safe ordering online with Melissa Guerra. Any page on our site that handles sensitive information, such as your credit card number, is securely encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.
Email Addresses:
The following are policies we have established for the collection and use of e-mail addresses. Melissa Guerra is aware of consumer's concern over unauthorized use of their e-mail address (spamming) and will do everything possible to protect the privacy of our visitors without hindering the services we provide to them.
1. When we collect an email address of an individual placing an online order we add them to our list to send future promotional emails, unless they opt-out when asked for permission to contact them again.
2. When we collect an address of an individual requesting a printed newsletter or catalog, we will also try to collect an email address from them and ask if they would like to opt-out of our promotional list. They will have this option at the time their request is placed.
3. When we collect an email address of an individual filling out a form to contact us, we will ask them to opt-in to receive promotional emails from us in the future. An individual will not be required to opt-in in order to have their question answered by us.
4. If a visitor signs up to receive promotional emails from us we consider this opt-in permission.
5. Every promotional email we send will contain an option for the recipient to opt-out, and not receive any future promotional emails
6. We will not rent or exchange our email addresses. From time-to-time we will send out endorsement emails to our list promoting partners who have paid us for the endorsement. We will screen endorsements and only feature those whom we feel would be of interest to our list.
7. If we rent email addresses from outside sources we will only use lists where email address have been collected with the permission of the individual that the address be used in this manner.
8. No opt-in (or opt-out) permission will be assumed to be required for sending emails to answer questions that have been emailed to us, to communicate order status (or other pertinent order information), or fulfill request that have been made to us via an email.
Mailing Addresses:
The following are policies we plan to follow regards to mailing addresses we collect:
1. Unless notified otherwise, we will mail future newsletters and print catalogs to any mailing address we gather from either an online order or online catalog request.
2. Upon occasion we will share with other companies the mailing addresses of people who have purchased from our site, newsletter, or catalog. These companies will have been thoroughly screened by us beforehand and only companies we believe would be on interest to you will be allowed to use these addresses.
3. Any print customer wishing to be placed on our "Do Not Share" list may contact us via email, telephone, or mail at the addresses above to be removed from our list. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will make sure you list if removed from the list we share with other organizations.
4. Any customer wishing not to receive any future mailings may do so by contacting us by email, telephone, or mail, at the addresses above. Please provide us with your exact name and address.
Changes in Policies:
From time to time we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt-out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used you should check back at our website periodically.
