Gaznates
Makes 4 dozen
8 egg yolks
½ tsp baking powder
2-3 tbsp. of whiskey
2 cups flour
1 tbsp. shortening or lard
oil for frying
Powdered sugar
Ground cinnamon
Whip egg yolks with salt, water and whiskey. Work in shortening and as much
flour as possible with hands. On a floured surface, roll out as thinly as
possible, cut into strips, and pinch ends together to form rings. Fry in oil
until lightly golden. Drain briefly on paper towels, then roll in powdered
sugar mixed with ground cinnamon.
